Cleveland Browns: Myles Garrett Subject of Trade Rumors

Star defensive end Myles Garrett is back in the spotlight as a possible trade candidate.

Garrett didn't attend the start of the Browns' offseason workout program last week, reportedly forfeiting $1 million and creating speculation that a trade involving the reigning Defensive Player of the Year could again be seeking a trade. However, that scenario appears to be unlikely.

Last week, first-year Head Coach Todd Monken brushed off Garrett's absence from workouts.

"First of all, as I've said before, this is voluntary for our players to be here," Monken said. "I think if you asked every coach in the NFL, would they like every player to be there? Of course. I think there's certain parts of what we do from a connection standpoint that I think is important to be here, [as well as] from a schematic standpoint.

"From a work standpoint? Not so much. And it is our job to make it to where the guys want to be here. I mean, not just by the job, but by the development, the camaraderie, being part of a team. And hell, I've been a part of a team since I was 5 years old there's nothing like it. I wouldn't miss it, because that's me, that's how I'm wired. But it is voluntary. Myles will be ready. I'm not worried about Myles."

The Browns have been vocal that they want to retain the 30-year-old Garrett as a franchise cornerstone. After adjusting Garrett's contract, Browns General Manager Andrew Berrysaidat the owners meetings that Garrett "is a career Brown."

Garrett previously requested a trade last offseason before signing a four-year, $160 million extension to stay in Cleveland.

As the draft approaches, ESPN's Dan Graziano said Monday that he doesn't believe the Browns will entertain trading Garrett, who is coming off a 23-sack season.

Pittsburgh Steelers: Team Brass Remains High on Will Howard

As the Steelers continue to wait for Aaron Rodgers to mull a return to Pittsburgh or retirement, the front office is gearing up for next week's draft.

The Steelers remain a popular potential landing spot for Alabama quarterback Ty Simpson, who is widely expected to be the second quarterback drafted in the first round.

Pittsburgh has also done its homework on several quarterbacks in this year's class, including Miami's Carson Beck, LSU's Garrett Nussmeier, and Penn State's Drew Allar, according toESPNs Brooke Pryor. They're also reportedly hosting former Arkansas quarterback Taylen Green on Monday.

However, that doesn't mean General Manager Omar Khan will select a signal-caller.

"The Steelers might not have a clear-cut quarterback of the future on the roster, but one internal source said that they won't be forced to draft one this year,"ESPNs Matt Millerwrote. "That source noted Pittsburgh will play the board first and that Will Howard, last year's sixth-round pick, has fans in the front office."

Howard didn't appear in a game in his rookie season. He and veteran Mason Rudolph are the lone quarterbacks on Pittsburgh's roster.

The Bengals will return the same starting offensive line next season, and the team is expecting big things from right tackle Amarius Mims.

Speaking on theBengals Booth Podcast, Bengals Offensive Line Coach Scott Peters discussed Mims' potential and expectations for Year 3.

"He's got a license to kill," Peters said. "Sometimes when you're a big guy growing up, everybody tells you, 'Hey, don't break anything. Hey, Amarius, break something, man, let's go. It's time to go. You can push the limit. Man, we want to see what you can do.' So, he's starting to see that, and I think that for him, just watching his ability shine through, and that's when the game becomes a lot of fun for him."

A first-round pick in 2024, the 6-foot-8, 350-pound Mims started all 17 games last season.
